How to Release Your Burdens
Part 1: Letting God Handle Your Burdens

Scripture: Matthew 11:28-30
I. Introduction: How do you handle the burdens that come into your life? Do you manage them according to God’s Word? Or do you find yourself complaining and looking to escape?
II. Definition: A burden is a heaviness of the heart, spirit, or soul—something that weighs us down emotionally, mentally, or spiritually.
III. We face two types of burdens:
- Burdens given by God
- Burdens of life
IV. How should we handle our burdens?
- Bring them to Christ.
- The invitation—all inclusive
- The invitation—motivated by love
- The invitation—encouraging
- We’re to follow His instructions.
- Humility
- Submission
- Learn
- Trust
- Leave it
God loves you and wants to take your burdens, but you must be willing to surrender them to Him.
V. Closing: From the moment you put your trust in Jesus, the burden of sin leaves you. When it comes to life’s burdens, God may or may not take them away. If He doesn’t, remember that God will give you the grace you need to stand strong in His love, strength, and wisdom.
