Commissioning ceremony launches first
International In Touch Messengers
On Thursday, September 4, Dr. Charles Stanley and In Touch employees prayed over the very first shipment of International In Touch Messengers to be sent to the mission field. Later this month, these 12 units will be distributed in northeastern Nigeria by missionaries who work with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Africa. The communities receiving these Messengers currently do not have the word of God translated in their own language. We praise God for His faithfulness and lovingkindness as this initiative moves forward. Dr. Stanley and the In Touch staff would like to thank everyone who is supporting the International In Touch Messenger project through their prayers and finances.
During Memorial Day weekend last year, we launched the In Touch Messenger project. Thanks to the generous support of our partners, 50,000 of these portable, water-resistant, solar-powered audio players are in the hands of U.S. troops. And 30,000 more are on the way.
But that is only the beginning of what God has planned for the Messenger. In phase two of this exciting initiative, In Touch plans to distribute another 60,000 of these handheld devices around the world. This new, international version of the In Touch Messenger is a unique and exciting way to share the love of Jesus. Available in English, Spanish, Arabic, French and Mandarin Chinese, the International In Touch Messenger contains 35 of Dr. Stanley’s most powerful and inspiring sermons.
Each one of these Messengers will be distributed through a global network of missionaries, local pastors, ministry partners and mission organizations. You can be an important part of fulfilling Dr. Stanley’s vision to share the gospel with as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, as clearly as possible, as irresistibly as possible, through the power of the Holy Spirit to the glory of God.
Your prayers and support are needed to help In Touch place a Messenger in the hands of someone halfway around the world—someone who is hungry for God’s Word.
The Lord has called us to be His witnesses “even to the remotest part of the earth” (Acts 1:8). While you may not be able to go yourself, you can stand with us and be God’s messenger.
