In Touch Impact Team
Welcome to a new year! When making your 2004 New Year's resolutions, think about how you can invest your life rather than spend itby committing to further the work of the Great Commission. When we devote ourselves to praying, supporting missionaries and ministries, mentoring fellow believers, or leading others to Christ, we are investing in God's work.
Recently, I had the privilege of accompanying Dr. Stanley on a four-city tour promoting his new book, Finding Peace. It was exciting to see so many people come through the line to share how their lives were influenced by Dr. Stanley and In Touch Ministriesmany accepted Jesus as their personal Savior through the television or radio programs. We met individuals who voiced their passionate desire to make an impact on others, and we encountered people who pray regularly for the work of In Touch around the globe. One person after another confirmed that In Touch continues to bless and impact their lives. Thanks to your constant prayers and faithful giving, our ministry is able to touch the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Your prayers and gifts are making an eternal difference.
One way you can impact the world is by joining the In Touch Prayer Team. The team is alerted to the ministry's specific needs and prayer requests. This is a vital component of our global ministry that touches lives on every continent. Visit us on our website at www.kintera.org/prayerteam and register to join this effective effort. If you lack access to the Internet and e-mail, you can still partner with us in prayerto receive an automated telephone message listing our requests and answers to prayer, U.S. and Canadian readers can go to the enclosed magazine order form and check the "Yes" box for prayer partners (above the item code column). Please make sure the phone number printed by your address is the one at which you desire to receive our automated message. Otherwise, write in the preferred number. (International partners, please register on the website listed above.)
At the end of 2004, do you want to look back and reflect on how your life made a difference? As you pray today, ask Jesus to show you ways to invest your life rather than spend it. Please continue to keep us in prayer, and may God richly bless you for taking an active part on our In Touch Impact Team/Prayer Partnership.

"I Want the Lord's Work to Go On"
Warren Eck waited with his wife for the ambulance that would transport him to the hospital. Before it arrived, Warren got up from his bed, made his way to the kitchen table, and wrote a dollar amount on a paper napkin. As he handed the napkin to Ruth, he said, "I want the Lord's work to go on. I want this to go to the Lord. You will be all right. But I want this to go tothe Lord." Then, despite his physical weakness, he whispered to her, "Ruth, take care of Dr. Stanley." She promised him she would.
Ruth called the In Touch Foundation soon after Warren's death. Based on her circumstances and the fact that she wanted to set up a memorial "to keep her husband's name alive," we helped her go through the process of setting up a Donor Advised Fund (DAF). Just eight months later, Ruth established the Warren H. Eck Fund, using the exact figure her husband had directed.
Of In Touch Foundation, Ruth says, "I sent the funds and they did the hard part [of setting up the DAF]." She goes on to say, "I am blessed knowing I have pleased my husband. Then, having the opportunity to hear of people coming to know the Lord and knowing I have a small part in this is an ongoing added blessing."
The first disbursement from the Warren H. Eck Fund helped start the In Touch Australian office. With Mrs. Eck directing the yearly gifts, the fund has helped get Dr. Stanley's messages translated into foreign languages, and it has also donated to other organizations the Ecks valued, including groups that support missionaries in the field.
"It is exciting for me to hear how the work of In Touch is progressing, and Warren would be thrilled to know all that is being accomplished. Perhaps he does know. All praise to our God!"
You can leave a legacy by creating a Donor Advised Fund. The process is simple, requiring a minimum $10,000 initial gift. We would be glad to help you go through the process, just as we did for Ruth Eck.
